How can I manage client signatures and GoCardless integration in GoProposal?

Managing client signatures and GoCardless integration in GoProposal involves configuring proposal templates to meet specific client needs. Learn how to customise templates for requiring or bypassing client signatures and integrating GoCardless for payment collection.

Overview

GoProposal lets you manage client signatures and payment integrations through customisable proposal templates. By configuring these templates, you can:

  • Require client signatures for specific proposals

  • Allow clients to sign proposals without setting up Direct Debit via GoCardless

  • Tailor the proposal process to different client requirements

Configuring Templates for GoCardless Integration

  1. Go to Settings and select Integrations.

  2. Select GoCardless then select Configure.

  3. In the GoCardless integration settings, set it to apply only to proposal templates you select. For example, you can link GoCardless to templates you use for new clients or recurring payments.

  4. For clients who don't need to enter bank details, create or use a proposal template you haven't linked to GoCardless. Proposals sent using these templates will allow clients to sign without providing bank details.

  5. Manage and assign templates by going to Configure then selecting Templates and Emails. This ensures only the relevant templates connect to GoCardless.

Enabling Client Signatures on Proposals

  1. Use a template that supports signatures, such as one that includes a Letter of Engagement.

  2. Go to Configure, select Templates & Emails, and edit the desired template.

  3. Go to the Acceptance tab and select the option for Signature and Acceptance Button.

  4. Save the changes. Proposals you create from this template will now require a client signature.

Best Practices for Template Management

  • Regularly review your templates to ensure they align with your business needs and client requirements

  • Clearly label templates to indicate whether they require client signatures or are linked to GoCardless

  • Test templates before sending them to clients to confirm that the settings function as you expect

By following these steps, you can effectively manage client signatures and GoCardless integration in GoProposal.
