Connect GoProposal with Dext Precision

The GoProposal and Dext Precision integration helps you price services using real client data.

Written by Russell Henderson

Step 1 - Generate your Dext API key

  1. Log in to Dext Precision.

  2. Go to Your Settings and select API.

  3. Name your API token (for example, GoProposal) and click Create.

  4. Copy the API token and store it securely.

    • Important: This is the only time you’ll see the token. Treat it like a password

Step 2 - Connect Dext to GoProposal

  1. In GoProposal, go to Settings and select Integrations.

  2. Select Dext Precision and click Connect.

  3. Paste your Dext API token into the field provided.

  4. Click Save.

Optional configuration:

  • Choose whether to average Dext activity data over three months or 12 months

  • Apply different time periods for different proposal templates

Step 3 - Link line items to Dext activity metrics

  1. Go to Configure and select Line Items.

  2. Click Edit line next to the service you want to link.

  3. In the pop-up, go to the Integrations tab and toggle Dext Precision on.

  4. Return to the Pricing tab and scroll to Dext Precision.

  5. Select the activity metric you want to use from the dropdown.

    • If you select Don’t use global activity metric, no metrics will apply

📌TIP: You can use Dext data for foundation pricing and custom calculations.
For example, for an invoicing service, use the total monthly sales invoices metric from Dext.

Repeat this process for any other line items where data-driven pricing is useful.

Step 4 - Use the integration in proposals

  1. Create a new proposal in GoProposal.

  2. Click Data-driven pricing in the Basic Information section.

  3. Search for the client (they must exist in your accounting software, such as Xero or QuickBooks).

  4. As you complete the proposal, you’ll see Dext metrics next to each service.

This provides clear, transparent pricing for you, your team, and your clients.
