If you act as a bookkeeper but outsource accounting and tax work on behalf of your clients, OverSuite helps you create compliant engagement letters. Follow these steps to set up your content and produce the correct letter.
Before you start
Ensure you have an active OverSuite subscription
If you aren’t yet an OverSuite user, start your trial here and return to this guide once set up
Step 1 - Add the correct engagement letter template
Go to Configure and select Engagement Letters.
Check your Scope Library for the template Bookkeeping and Outsourced Accounts/Tax Return (Any Entity)
If it’s missing:
Switch to Configure OverSuite and select Review Available Scopes
Select the template and click Add letters
Confirm the template now appears in your Scope Library.
Step 2 - Add the correct service schedule
Go to Configure and select Line Items.
Create a new line item called Outsourced Accounting and Tax Work.
Assign the OverSuite service schedule Bookkeepers Only; Outsourced Accounting and Tax Services.
Step 3 - Produce your engagement letter
Create a proposal as normal.
Under Letter of Engagement to Use, select the template added in Step 1.
Enter the name of the outsourcer when prompted.
Add the Outsourced Accounting and Tax Work line item to include the correct service schedule.
Complete the proposal as normal.
Preview the engagement letter to confirm:
The introduction and scope reflect bookkeeping and outsourced work.
The Outsourced Accounting and Tax Services schedule appears in the Schedule of Services.
