How to send an engagement letter without a proposal in OverSuite

Understand how to use OverSuite to send a standalone engagement letter without including a fee proposal in GoProposal.

Written by Russell Henderson

OverSuite keeps your engagement letters compliant by updating them quarterly to reflect legislative changes. If you need to issue an engagement letter without a proposal, you can do this easily in OverSuite. You can do this for things like specific work types or overdue renewals.

Step 1 - Configure your template

  1. Go to Configure and select Templates & Emails.

  2. Create a new template or duplicate an existing one.

  3. In the new template:

    • Select Letter of Engagement as the document type

    • Update client, staff, and Wahoo emails to remove proposal references

  4. Give the template a clear name so your team can identify it when creating letters.

Step 2 - Send the engagement letter

  1. Start creating a proposal in GoProposal.

  2. Under Documents to Send, select Letter of Engagement.

  3. Choose the template you configured earlier.

  4. Complete the engagement letter by:

    • Selecting the relevant services

    • Assigning key dates

    • Entering client details

📎NOTE: Proposal-specific features such as the preview and calculation tool won’t appear.
