Introduction

When you run an ID check in GoProposal you'll get a report returned with the results, stored in your Client Hub. This guide will show you the results returned for each ID check in AML for GoProposal and how you can interpret them. We have split these into the three available checks in GoProposal, click the link that is relevant to you:

Basic Check

Below is a guide to understanding the results returned with your Basic check and how you can interpret them.

Understanding the Results

Your basic check will return the following information as either passed or consider on your report:

Database Address Match:

PEPs and Sanctions:

Interpreting the Results

Auto-Approved: Your report will display as Auto-Approved if every item on the check has passed. You can view the report and approve the check once you're happy with it.

Consider: Your report will display as Consider if one or more items on the report has failed.

Review the report before deciding whether to pass of fail the check.

Handling items returned as consider on your Basic check report:

In some cases, one or more items on the Basic report may be flagged as "consider." It's important to note that this doesn't necessarily mean you cannot proceed with taking on the client, however you need to review the details of the report to determine if there is a genuine risk of money laundering or if there are alternative ways to address the concerns.

Here are some examples of how you may approach failed items:

  1. Address Match Failure: If the address match fails, we recommend speaking with your client. For example, have they recently moved? You may also request a proof of address document to check through manually.

  2. PEP flag: If there is a match with a PEP, read through the information provided to ascertain if it's a legitimate concern or a false positive. Cross reference the client's report with the name and location on their identity document to gather additional insights. If the individual is indeed a PEP, you may choose to implement additional measures to mitigate the associated risks on an ongoing basis.

Biometric Check

Below is a guide to understanding the results returned with your Biometric check and how you can interpret them.

Understanding the Results:

Your biometric check will return the following information as either passed or consider on your report:

Document Report

If your client has completed a Thirdfort ID check using the NFC Chip:

If your client has completed a Thirdfort ID check with no NFC chip/alternate form of ID:

Facial Similarity Report

Database Address Match

PEPs and Sanctions

Interpreting the Results

Auto-Approved: Your report will display as Auto-Approved if every item on the check has passed. You can view the report and approve the check once you're happy with it.

Consider: Your report will display as Consider if one or more items on the report has failed.

Review the report before deciding whether to pass of fail the check.

Handling items returned as consider on your Biometric check report:

In some cases, one or more items on the report may be flagged as "consider." It's important to note that this doesn't necessarily mean you cannot proceed with taking on the client, however you will need to review the details to determine if there is a genuine risk of money laundering or there are alternative ways to address the flag.

Here are some examples of how you may approach failed items:

  1. Address Match Failure: If the address check fails to match with online databases when your client completes the Biometric check in real-time, Thirdfort prompts your client to provide a Proof of Address document which will be added to the report. Review the provided proof of address document in the Appendix, and if you are satisfied with its validity, you can proceed to approve the report. If not, you can speak with your client to dig deeper, for example have they recently moved?

  2. PEP flag: If there is a match with a PEP, read through the information provided to ascertain if it's a legitimate concern or a false positive. Cross reference the client's report with the name and location on their identity document to gather additional insights. If the individual is indeed a PEP, you may choose to implement additional measures to mitigate the associated risks on an ongoing basis

  3. Facial Comparison Failure: Check the report yourself to see if this is a clear failure. Contact your client if you believe this to case and check they followed the steps correctly. You might ask to meet them to prove their identity via other means. If it is indeed a clear failure in identity verification, it would be advisable not to proceed with working with this client.
