How fixed pricing works

Understand how to set up fixed pricing for services in GoProposal and how to add complexity using calculations.

Written by Jack Choppin

Fixed pricing is the simplest pricing type in GoProposal. It sets a single price for a service, either as a monthly fee or a one-off cost.

You can also add calculations to make fixed pricing more flexible. For example:

  • A fixed price for a P11D multiplied by the number of P11Ds required

  • A base fee for bank reconciliation adjusted by transaction volume

Set a fixed price for a service

  1. Go to Configure and select Line Items.

  2. Click Edit Line for the service you want to price.

  3. Go to the Pricing tab.

  4. From the dropdown menu, select Fixed Price.

  5. Enter the price in the Price field.

  6. Choose whether the fee is Monthly or One-Off.

  7. Click Save.

Add calculations to build complexity

To adjust the fixed price based on quantity or other factors:

  1. In the same line item, go to Calculations.

  2. Add a rule, such as Multiply by Quantity Field.

  3. Select the relevant quantity field (for example, number of P11Ds).

  4. Save your changes.

Example:

  • Fixed price = £6.50 per P11D

  • Calculation = Multiply by the number of P11Ds entered during proposal creation

Other uses of fixed price calculations

  • Create tiered pricing for services like bank reconciliation:

    • £25 for up to 25 transactions

    • £50 for up to 50 transactions

  • Achieve this by setting a base price (£1) and using a variation multiplier for each band
