There’s currently an issue when you try to edit or save items or content in proposals and engagement letters. Additionally, engagement letters may fail to generate, download, or display correctly, sometimes showing visible indent or margin markers. These errors often occur when you've copied content from an external source such as websites, email clients, or AI tools like ChatGPT and pasted it into GoProposal. This can transfer hidden HTML code or whitespace that you can't see until you notice the error, unexpected formatting issues, or display problems.
To resolve this:
Identify the problematic content:
Open the affected engagement letter in GoProposal
Locate the scope or text that is causing the issue
Clean the text using a plain-text editor:
Copy the problematic text from the engagement letter
Paste the text you copied into a plain-text editor (for example, Notepad on Windows or any other plain-text editor). This will strip all hidden HTML formatting
Replace the original text:
In GoProposal, delete the original formatted text from the engagement letter
Copy the cleaned text from the plain-text editor and paste it back into the engagement letter
Reapply formatting:
Use GoProposal’s formatting tools to reapply headings, bullet points, or other necessary formatting
Save and test:
Save the changes and attempt to generate or download the engagement letter again. Verify the issue is resolved
Preventative Measures
Avoid copying text directly from external sources into GoProposal. Instead, paste the text into a plain-text editor first to remove any hidden formatting
Use GoProposal’s built-in formatting tools to style your engagement letters
