How to set up service schedules

Discover how to add and assign service schedules in GoProposal to ensure your engagement letters include the correct legal text.

Written by Russell Henderson

Service schedules explain the specific services you offer, such as payroll or annual financial statements. They’re part of the Schedule of Services section in your engagement letters. GoProposal adds the right service schedule automatically when you select that service in a proposal. To make this work, you need to link each service schedule to the correct line item.

Customizing these letters ensures clear communication and sets proper expectations about the services provided.

Step 1 - Assign service schedules to line items

  1. Go to Configure and select Line Items.

  2. Click Edit Line next to the service you want to update.

  3. In the pop-up, select the Contents tab.

  4. Paste the service schedule text into the Service Schedule box.

  5. Repeat this for each service schedule provided by your awarding body.

  6. Click Save Line Item when finished.

📌TIP: If you subscribe to GoProposal OverSuite, the system pre-generates your service schedules. Assign the correct Smart Service Schedule to the corresponding line item.

Step 2 - Configure the rest of your engagement letter

Add other key components such as:

  • Terms and conditions

  • Entity templates- Services such as Capital Gains Tax (CGT) return

Step 3 - Edit the introduction to the Schedule of Services

  1. Go to Configure and select Engagement Letters.

  2. In the Engagement Letter Suite, expand the Schedule of Services tab.

  3. Edit the heading and introductory text as needed.

  4. Click Save Settings.

Step 4 - Apply service schedules at section level (optional)

  • If multiple services in a section share the same schedule, add the schedule at section level to avoid duplication

  • Example: Personal Tax Return Submission

Your engagement letters will automatically include the correct service schedules for each service selected in a proposal.
