What to do if the calculation tool sticks on ‘calculating totals’

Occasionally, proposals don't progress past the calculating totals stage in GoProposal. This can be due to integration issues, missing pricing values, or browser extensions.

Step 1 - Check Xero or QuickBooks integration

  1. Go to Settings and select Integrations.

  2. Select Xero or QuickBooks.

  3. Ensure all required fields are complete.

  4. If fields are missing, reconnect the integration:

    • Switch the integration off using the toggle

    • Switch it back on and re-enter your settings

📌 TIP: A dropped connection or incomplete setup is a common cause of this issue.

Step 2 - Check line item pricing

Missing values in line item pricing can prevent totals from calculating

To check this:

  1. Note which services you selected on the Create Proposal page.

  2. Go to Configure and select Line Items.

  3. Edit each relevant line item.

  4. Open the Pricing tab and ensure no fields are empty.

📎 NOTE: For example, if a service has no value in a pricing field, the system can’t calculate totals.

Step 3 - Check browser extensions

Extensions like Grammarly can interfere with GoProposal and cause slowness.

To test this:

  1. Open GoProposal in an incognito or private browser window.

  2. If the issue resolves, disable Grammarly or other extensions when using GoProposal.
