Who are Thirdfort?

Thirdfort is our trusted partner for AML checks. They provide secure digital verification using government-grade technology and encrypted data.
Visit Thirdfort’s website for more details.

How is client data handled?

Thirdfort processes client data for AML checks.

Do AML checks support international clients?

Yes. International checks work the same as UK checks.
For guidance on international phone numbers, see Thirdfort’s article.

What if my client doesn't have a passport?

The app allows clients to select an alternative ID type. They’ll complete the check using a driving licence or other photo ID.

What if the ID doesn’t have an NFC chip?

The client will follow the Original ID flow, which includes scanning the ID and completing a liveness check.

Do AML checks affect a client’s credit score?

No. Thirdfort uses a soft search via Experian Authenticate. It appears on the credit file but doesn’t affect the score.
Read more about credit checks here.

Why are there so many PEP matches?

A Politically Exposed Person (PEP) is someone in a prominent public role. Thirdfort categorises matches to help you assess risk.

How do I know if a check is complete?

Check the client’s AML status in the Contact Hub. Status updates to Decision Required when results are ready.

Why do I need to approve an auto-approved check?

Review the report and confirm the decision for compliance and audit purposes.
