Send proposal to Sage Accounting

How to create a proposal and turn it into a quote/invoice in Sage Accounting.

Once you successfully set up Sage Accounting (formerly known as Sage Business Cloud Accounting or SBCA) integration, you can create proposals to pull data through to Sage Accounting.


Create proposal

You would create a proposal as normal, however you must fill in the address section in the Complete proposal stage. Without this, it will cause complications when the data is passed through to Sage Accounting.


Proposal becomes quote in Sage Accounting

When you complete the proposal, you can then send it to the client as normal. Once sent, and showing as Live on your proposal dashboard, go to Sage Accounting.

Click the Sales tab and then Quotes and estimates. A quote for this proposal will show at the top of your list as Pending. The GoProposal ID will show in the invoice reference.

📎NOTE: The invoice numbers are mapped to the settings within your Sage Accounting business. To change this, you must edit it within Sage Accounting.


Quote becomes invoice in Sage Accounting

Once the proposal is accepted, the quote in Sage Accounting will show as Invoiced and then appear in the Sales invoices section.


How do send invoices to the client?

To send the invoices out to the client, currently you must manually do so through Sage Accounting.


How do I set up recurring invoices?

To set your invoices up as recurring, you must set this up through the invoice in Sage Accounting.

Marking Proposal as lost

​When you mark a Proposal as Lost, the quote status to Declined in Sage Accounting.

If you reset the status of the proposal back to Live and then manually mark as won, this changes the status to Invoiced in Sage Accounting.
