Welcome to GoProposal. We look forward to helping you price all your services more consistently and profitably across all of your clients.
Getting your pricing, letters of engagement and proposals right are fundamental to making GoProposal work.
The goal is to help you confidently use it with one client or prospect. We’ve compiled the steps below to get your accountancy business set up on GoProposal. These steps will be key in starting to price consistently, sell your services more confidently, and grow profitably.
When you first log in to GoProposal, you're prompted with or onboarding steps. You'll choose one of two paths:
Proposals and engagement letters - full setup experience
Engagement letters only - engagement letter set up only
📎 Note: Some features, like AML and Smart Engagement Letters, are only available in the UK.

Step 1 - Select proposals and engagement letters option
This is the full onboarding journey. You'll set up your services first, then the engagement letters, before completing the rest of the setup.
Step 2 - Add services and pricing
This defines the services you offer and how you price them. Select the services your firm provides and add pricing for each service. GoProposal uses this to structure your proposals.
For full details, see Configure your pricing.
Step 3 - Set up your engagement letters
Here, you'll create the documents your clients will review and sign. You can complete a guided setup or set up manually if you prefer. You'll provide firm and compliance details, and GoProposal generates engagement letter templates automatically.
For full details, see Setup letters of Engagement.
Step 4 - Review and customise your engagement letters
You'll now have access to your engagement letter workspace. This is where you can tailor your documents to your firm. GoProposal creates templates for different client types and you can edit sections like terms, services, and agreements. You can also manage firm details, key people, and your settings.
Step 5 - Add your company branding
This is where you'll personalise your documents. This helps ensure your proposals and engagement letters reflect your brand. You can upload your logo, choose colours and fonts, and customise how documents appear to clients.
For full details, see How to personalise GoProposal with your company branding.
Step 6 - Final steps and sending a test proposal
You'll now go back to the start screen to complete the final setup steps. After this, you can send yourself a test proposal and review any optional setup sections.
For full details, see Send a test proposal and review.

Step 1 - Select Engagement letters only option
This option focuses on creating and managing engagement letters without setting up pricing or proposals. It's a simplified route, with key setup steps to make sure your engagement letters are accurate, compliant, and ready to send.
Step 2- Set up your engagement letters
Begin by choosing how you want to create your engagement letters. This defines how GoProposal creates your templates and content.
In the UK, you can use Smart Engagement Letters. These include pre-defined templates, terms, and compliance content
Outside the UK, you'll follow a manual setup. You'll create your engagement letter content from scratch
For full details, see Setup letters of Engagement.
Step 3 - Add your services
This defines the services your firm provides. You'll select and organise your services to populate the scope of work (LOE) in your engagement letters.
GoProposal will use these services within your engagement letter templates.
📎 Note: You don't need to add pricing in this setup path.
For full details, see Configure your pricing.
Step 4 - Add your firm's details
Enter your firm's information to include the correct details in your engagement letters. This includes the firm's name, contact details, and business information. GoProposal then applies this across your documents automatically.
Step 5 - Review and customise your templates
You can now access your engagement letter templates and tailor them to your firm's requirements. You can customise Terms and Conditions (T&Cs), service schedules, and agreement content and sections.
Step 6 - Add key people
Add important contacts for your firm to include the correct signatories and contacts in your documents. You can add directors, partners, or other key individuals. GoProposal uses these key people in your engagement letters.
Step 7 - Add your company branding
This is where you'll personalise your documents. This helps ensure your proposals and engagement letters reflect your brand. You can upload your logo, choose colours and fonts, and customise how documents appear to clients.
For full details, see How to personalise GoProposal with your company branding.
Step 8 - Complete onboarding
Review all steps to confirm you're ready to start using GoProposal.
