How to change the way fees are displayed in proposals

Learn how to control whether fees in GoProposal proposals show as a total only or as a full breakdown.

Written by Russell Henderson

By default, GoProposal displays fees as an itemised breakdown in proposals. This helps clients understand the value of each service.

However, you can choose to:

  • Show a total fee only

  • Show a full breakdown

  • Show section-level subtotals

You can set a default display option or override it when creating a proposal.

Set the default fee display

  1. Go to Configure and select Pricing Tool.

  2. Scroll to Showing Fees in the Proposal.

  3. Choose Show totals only or Show full breakdown.

  4. Click Save Settings.

Override when creating a proposal

In the Calculation section, change the setting from Show full breakdown to Show totals only (or vice versa).

Show fees at section level

To display subtotals for specific sections (for example, a total for advisory services but a breakdown for bookkeeping), enable the Subtotals per section feature.
