Why template changes aren’t appearing in your proposal

When you edit a proposal or engagement letter template, changes don't automatically apply to existing proposals. You can either duplicate the proposal or manually refresh the template to include updates.

Recommended method: Duplicate the proposal

Duplicating an existing proposal ensures that the system applies the latest template changes. This method is:

  • Efficient: Quickly update key details without starting from scratch

  • Accurate: Guarantees the latest engagement letters and terms are included

📌 TIP: Avoid editing the original proposal directly, as it can retain outdated terms.

Alternative method: Manually refresh the template

Step 1 - Edit the proposal

  1. From the Proposals and Engagement Letters tab in the dashboard, select the Actions button.

  2. Click Edit to make changes.

Step 2 - Switch the template

  1. From the Proposals and Engagement Letters tab in the dashboard, select the Actions button.

  2. Select Edit, opening your proposal.

  3. Scroll down to select the proposal Template section and select an option you don't want to use.

  4. Scroll down to select Recalculate Totals.

Step 3 - Switch back to the correct template

  1. Go back to the Template option in the Basic Information section.

  2. Select the correct template for your proposal or engagement letter.

  3. Scroll down to select Recalculate Totals again.

Step 4 - Verify the changes

  1. Click Complete Proposal.

  2. Select the item again from the dashboard to see the updated proposal or engagement letter.

📌 TIP: Consistently duplicating proposals before sending updates helps maintain compliance and saves time.
